The purpose of this blog is to take an up close and more detailed look at the market trends and communities that make up the San Francisco Mid- Peninsula real estate market. Silicon Valley is more than just a place–it is home to millions of people.
Having lived on the Peninsula since 1988 , I have made it a practice to look at both overall data and what I call “micro-market” data. For example, White Oaks is a “micro-market” within San Carlos that is characterized by charming older homes, tree lined streets and a strong community identification. In many ways it is very similar to both the Allied Arts and Willows area of Menlo Park.
It is important to understand the similarities and price points within the various micro- markets across communities so that buyers and sellers ultimately make informed decisions . Community knowledge is key to both pricing homes for sale and assisting buyers in their search.
